An Old Belief and Today's Scientific World..

Interesting old beliefs which we easily pass on to the next generation without questioning them in today’s modern world reality, such is the incident I am briefing hereby.

Few days back, in the night, I was cutting my nails using nail cutter. My mom saw it and she started screaming on me. She didn’t like that I was cutting the nails in the night. I asked with curiosity, "why?”. She didn’t have a proper answer, but she said “Don’t cut the nails in the night; it’s not good for your fortune/planets and not even good for our house’s fortune”. I was surprised that “Cutting nails is such a dangerous activity”.

My curiosity didn’t stop there. I have searched on the internet and found that, it’s a myth. The actual reality is different. In earlier days, neither there was electricity available in home nor was nail-cutter invented. At that time, they usually use kerosene lamp for the light inside the house and the blade instead of nail-cutter. So there was a high chance that the person who was cutting his/her nails may hurt fingers because of the usage of blade. Before the Thomas Alva Edison invented the electric bulb, this belief was very true and needed to stop ones from cutting their nails in the night. But now, it is not holding any weightage.

When I explained this to my mom, she just started laughing on her old belief and accepted the new reality.

I found that with every new invention and innovations we need to brush up once again on all those old beliefs which we have and remove if they are not applicable in this modern world. So that, these wrong believes shall not pass to the next generation.

I am sure there are many such old beliefs still pass on to the next generation without questioning them in today's world reality. Would like to know such beliefs and investigate them in detail..... :) :) :)

wait...till the quality matters

Business minded people have eyes of observation which can see the business opportunities in every situation. But there are many unknown parameters affect to the business which took them to the top of the success ladder or in deep failure.

Tea stall (in a slang way we called "Tapari") outside my office provides wonderful tea with all Garam Masala and ginger. But it seems that his business is limited and not creating worthy revenue. On the similar side, our office has average kind of canteen. Our office canteen is not providing a quality food as well as tea. But the company is paying for all employees; everybody insists to take the tea from office canteen only despite the tea quality is bad.

Few days back, all of a sudden our management has decided that the employee has to bear their own cost for the food. This has made a drastic change. Everybody has realized the need for the quality, as the money is now going from their own pockets. So they felt that if they are paying then the quality matters. So, everybody shifted to that Tapariwala for the Masala Tea and Maggie. And, immediately that Tapariwala's business shoots up. That canteen wala got a tight slap on his chick and realized that he was earning just because of the employer was paying. No employee was actually interested in his degraded tea and other unhygienic food items. So, due to his degraded quality, he has reported a loss in his business.

Now that, Tapariwala is also thinking to extend his business to meet the requirement. I also appreciate Tapariwala's ethics that he didn't change the price of tea even though the demand has increased tremendously.

In the business clouds, when and which parameters change suddenly we never know. We just keep following the path of ethics and provide the good quality products even if the revenue earning is less initially.

Why only Money for Donation..

Why do they only ask Money as Donation? Or why do beggars always beg for Money? Money is just a medium of exchanging your needy things. There are many other things which are possibly to be donated and there are hundreds out there in a need of that. Like books, knowledge, your time and the last things is usage of your mind or your ideas (which put you in position to donate other things). Why can't we donate our senses (of course, only if it is alive) for few days to someone? At least he or she can improve using those senses and will make his or her life better. That is the actual things which we need to pass on. Awareness and alive senses are the need for everyone.

There is a reception on the other side is equally matters. If you want to pass on something but the reception is not tuned, it is just a waste of effort. That leads to me to conclude that we need to provide the basic things to the person first and then pass on awareness. Without food, shelter and clothes, you can't even teach simple things to someone. Those untuned person will never even listen to you and it looks them as if it is very complicated. That is great saying that “A hungry stomach cannot hear”. For Food, shelter and clothes, you need money. Because of that only passing money to this needy people as donation is required. After the person is at sufficient stable stage, they start accepting knowledge and accept those awareness fundas. Later, if the person is lucky enough, he explores and try to understand the spirituality concepts to make life even much better.
