Trek to DeoriaTal,Tungnath and ChandraShila Peak

What will be our life if we stay away from the gadgets and internet world (especially social networking) for few days?

A break for few days and trekking into Himalaya’s gave me such feelings. Leaving all artificial life and concrete jungle behind, passing through the sharp curvy roads which revolves around mountains on one side and the death defining valleys on other, we reached the Sari village near Ukimath in Uttarkhand state.

To reach Deoria Tal, we started trekking from Sari Village near Ukimath. Gaining height on trail with step by step and experiencing the nature’s beauty on both the sides of pavement we reached to the top. On top, a big plateau with a small lake (Tal), which is covered on one side with dense jungle and Himalayan mountain on the other side. Misty weather and heavy rain we couldn’t identify the Himalayan peaks on that day but the next day the morning was very pleasant and crystal clear. We observed Chokumba, Kedar Dome, Hathi Parvat, Nanda Devi (India’s highest peak) and Kala khadak peaks in the Himalayan range. As the rays of the Sun started coloring these peaks, they have started glittering as gold and the reflection of these mountains in the Deoria Tal adding the beauty in this scenery. Apart from this, we saw jackal (which gave us a thrilling experience as well as tension), fingerprints of leopard, many birds and their chirpy sounds, red flowers - Rhododendron, which has medical values – completed our package for this trek.

Spending a wonderful and thrilling night in the tent and with sky full of shining stars, next day we started descending to the base village – Sari. Then, we started moving towards the village called Chopta. It’s a base village to start our second trek for Tungnath Temple.

– which is one of the Punch Kedar and consider being a part of pilgrim trip in Hindu Culture. Tungnath temple is the only temple in the world at this much height (source Wikipedia). Leaving all jungles behind and passing through the meadows we reached to the top after 3-4 hours of steep trek. Here, the atmosphere was rapidly changing – sunlight, cloudy and thunder storms. During the discussion about weather with the local people, we get to know that they compare the weather with the Mumbai’s Fashion. They said that “As Mumbai’s fashion change rapidly, so the weather changes here. Luckily, the Tungnath temple was opening on the next day. So on the next day we covered the Chandra Shila peak

– where Lord Ram had done meditation after defeating Ravana and we did puja at Tungnath temple. Then we started descending. During this trip, talking with the local people and hearing their stories and myths about the places like Deoria Tal and Tungnath temple was very interesting to us, whereas a talk about the new technology and gadgets which we used here in metros was very surprising to them.

That’s all we covered in this 4-5 days trekking. Such a mind refreshing treks and stunning view of nature’s beauty brought lots of serenity in us. Nature, trekking, photography and Writing about such places are all going hand in hand.

whatever it will be... will be..!!!

Wind was flowing, thoughts were blowing,
Mind was poaching, heart was weeping,
Sitting atop mountain, looking at sunset,
Attempted to draw picture of my future,
No clarity, no omens, just full of mystery,
And nothing came as concrete as this mountain..!!!

Looking at sky, questioning the almighty,
What is my future?
Where is my life heading?
Give me chance to see my life designed by you,
Through the window of intuitions and senses;

Bewildered, discouraged and whispering
Prayers of hope headed towards my home,
Whatever it will be …will be...!!!
