Talagad and Ghosalgad (the twin forts), we covered in single day. Talagad fort is situated on the bank of the Malati creek (a small stream, often a shallow or intermittent tributary to a river connected to the sea), Ghosalgad is situated between the Sawle Creek and Revdanad creek. The main reason of building these forts are to keep vigil on the invaders, who can get in, through western coastline. In Ghosalgad the point where they keep a watch on this creek is called "Canon Point". We saw an old canon at this point. Also, there is one "Chor darwaja" from where they can get out of the fort when they lost the battle for the fort.
These forts were strategically and amazingly build. It is interesting to know about their existence and story behind it.
Let's respect and preserve our national heritage and glory...!!!
I have captured some photos during this trekking.
You can see the creek in this photograph.
