Solving the problems and experiencing difficult scenarios enrich you in many ways. One question here it is "if everyone is possessing similar level of intelligence than why only few people can solve the difficult problems." May be their starvation to solve difficult problems help them. While others are just sit back after solving easy problems. That freezes the intelligence and creativity. Solving difficult problems accelerate your speed on the way to greater heights. Sometimes failures occur and may plummet you in deep well but your attitude helps you to get back and reach the pinnacle of success. If you follow this path than in later stage the failure becomes innocuous to you.
Solve more difficult problem may help you in realizing intelligence if it is constant or might help you in its growth.

Does everyone have a similar level of intelligence? Isn't it an hypothetical statement?
Also the term difficult is a relative term. Something difficult for you may not be difficult for someone else....or for that matter a problem may be difficult for your intellect.
Your intelligence also depends on the situation you are put in for solving the problem. How much you withstand the pressure to get it solved. You can prepare yourself for certain circumstances by testing yourself at each stage...but it is at the 'moment of truth' where it all matters how well you pull it out
As per my view, Intelligence is constant in everyone.
Now consider that a new problem which is given to two child and both of them having no knowledge about it. One is able to solve it and the other one is still struggling. You may say that first one is more intelligent. Actually this is not the case. The first one is able to solve that problem because he has used the same idea which he had encountered in some life's situation or may be somewhere else. The same thing is not possible with the other child.
Here argument can be possible that if both of them gone through similar situation in their life and still only one child has solve the problem. I agree with that. Because during school days, some children are able to realize intelligence and some are doing it in later stage. While there are few people who are not able to realize and keep saying that intelligence is differ from person to person. Now how can we realize that? I think we all know it…!!
Regarding the pressurize situation, I can say it is not changing your intelligence. Actually the pressure increases the anxiety and fear in you which surpasses your calmness and intelligence. That’s the reason you can solve the same problem without pressure with your intelligence. So the result of handling the situation is not the deciding factor of person's intelligence.
I believe intelligence is discovering, knowing, finding out, inventing, applying the learnt and not following a way that leads you to the solution
